Book Review of Victor Pogadev's Russian Indonesian Pocket Dictionary
mashilman.com - Hello loyal readers of the BH blog! In previous posts, Mimin reviewed night projector lights, so this time the author wants to do a review again, but the product that will be reviewed here is not an electronic item, cellphone accessories or similar products but a book. In other words, here we will dissect a foreign language book, namely a Russian language pocket dictionary which is the mainstay of Russian language students. A brief overview of this booklet is as follows;
Compiler Name: Victor Pogadev
ISBN: 978-979-22-8945-9
Publisher : PT. Gramedia Jakarta
Number of Pages: ±1300
Year of Publication: 2012
To be honest, Mimin bought this little dictionary several months ago, but didn't have time to review it right away for one reason or another. This dictionary book is a type of pocket dictionary; which means it is easy to carry everywhere because its size is designed not to be too big so it is suitable as a guide tool that will help those of you who are trying to memorize, deepen and practice your Russian language skills outside the home, on the side of the road or in other public facilities. As for the content itself, the author feels it is complete enough for beginner levels seeing that the number of pages reaches approximately 1300 pages and contains ±10,000 entries and sub-entries in each section.
This dictionary is organized into 2 parts; part 1 contains translations of vocabulary from Russian to Indonesian while part 2 is the opposite. The initial pages also include an introductory guide regarding the Russian language; starting from the letters of the alphabet, how to pronounce them and abbreviations in Russian which will make it easier for Russian language learners who still have zero theory or don't understand even a cent of the theories in Russian, and of course this also needs to be optimized with the help of other media; such as videos, groups, forums and so on, remembering that the Russian alphabet is written in Cyrillic letters which are clearly not the same as the Latin alphabet like Indonesian and English. At the end of the page, a brief biography of the life journey of the author of this tiny dictionary, Dr. Victor Pogadev.
That's all and I hope it's useful 🌟
